I have never been good with plants, mainly because of my many holidays. But since I have a balcony in my new apartment I felt a bit of greenery would be pleasing. So I got myself a tree, a Bonsai tree. But let me bust an old myth first: Bonsais do not live inside but outside, they are proper trees. And yes, they stay outside during winter (with proper care). Bonsai means potted plant and are actual mini-trees. They originally came from China to Japan and developed into an art form. Basically all trees can be transformed into a Bonsai (as long as they are young): all what it takes is a small container and the know-how when to cut the branches. Basically one uses the laws of nature to create mini-trees that copy their big brothers. But beware of buying cheap trees without receiving proper training: they will not survive long.
