According to a recent article in the International Herald Tribune Online there are still some veterans of the American Secret War in Laos living in outmost poverty in the jungle of Laos. The war made Laos the most bombed country on earth and blasted the Laotians back decades. The Americans used during the Vietnam War ethnic Hmong to fight the Communist troops. After the war ended in failure the Americans left their former allies alone.
