Over 130 years of shoe-making tradition and fifth generation family-ownership make sure that Crockett & Jones (UK) shoes are made to fit and impress. Now combine their goodyear-welted English shoes with a strong Swiss francs (and a weak pound) and a summer-sale and you understand what I couldn't resist! I bought a pair of brown suede-leather monk shoes and an outrageously stylish handmade Weymouth shoe, made of one piece of leather. Both shoes are of the longer shape variety and I bought them half-a-size bigger than what I would have bought in the past (most Swiss tend to buy shoes a tad too small). After wearing them for a couple of weeks I can also honestly say that those two pairs are the most comfortable shoes I have in my cupboard.
PS: As pointed out in a earlier blog entry, maintaining expensive shoes with shoe trees and a regular cleaning is a must (and for extra shine 'spit and polish' is highly recommended).
